What is your honest opinion (which I know you always give) of Moto GP?
I hope it arrived today (as you were saying earlier that it might be waiting for you when you get back from work). Don`t worry if you don`t want to reply to this ever or yet, but I was just wondering if it would be better to wait for GT3 ro go with Moto GP for a bit.

P.S. do you know anything about the release date of WipEout Fusion?

Thanks. ssxpro.

Well, no doubt - Moto GP *is* the Gran Turismo of the bike world. Easy to play, difficult to master.

The replays are easily on a par with the GT series, but not quite as photo-realistic as GT3 - though not far off.

You'll find yourself wanting to learn every track just so you can look good in the replays.

I may be wrong, but I think the coders of GT3 have taken a leaf out of Moto GP's replays. Previously in GT games, the camera always seemed 'locked' to the car it was following... it never wavered in its tracking of the car, no matter what happened.

In the footage I saw today on the latest PSW DVD, I'm sure that the replay camera had a little more 'human error' in it, occasionally having trouble keeping the car in view. It was nowhere near as obvious as the Moto GP replays; in fact it may well have been my imagination - can anyone else with the the PSW DVD confirm it?

Anyway, my point is - if the GT3 team *have* actually borrowed the idea from Moto GP, it can only serve as a testament to just how good Moto GP is.

Its an incredible game, it really is. I have been playing it non stop since it arrived yesterday morning. The bikes all handle superbley, you may tweak them to perfection and there is nothing better than gliding round corners. Races are great, with 20 other riders competing against you at a time. It is very addictive game, the learning curve is spot on - easy to get into but can get extremley difficult, especially in simulation mode.
It looks just stunning also, everything is about as realistic as your likely to see and the replays are something else - Almost photo realistic!!
As someone said earlier it is a shame that there are only five tracks, but that doesnt make this anymore less of a 'must have' title!!

Delayed until the autumn I'm afraid... Something about everyone leaving to go and work on the Getaway!?

I'm also keen to know what other people think when they get it. The demo left me strangely cold. If it was the arcade mode, it didn't give me much of a feeling for speed. It's a shame, as I was looking forward to a decent bike game at last.

So I've basically decided not to buy it. Someone who's played the full game - change my mind!

Well, it hasn't arrived yet, so you might be better off asking mattyboy... :-(

But...

The playable demo on the latest official PS2 mag is awesome - I've been playing it over and over, and it's only one lap and then the replay!

You already know about the great graphics, but the handling is good. I suspect that the demo plays as the Arcade mode, as it is fairly easy to control; the Simulation mode is supposed to be harder.

You can use the Dual Shock 2 in digital mode, and it works just fine - but switch it to analogue and the buttons come into play... the harder you press the brake or accelerator, the more effect they have.

I don't usually return to a playable demo more than once, but Moto GP has me hooked already. Think Gran Turismo on two wheels and you won't go far wrong. It's not as photo-realistic as GT3, but it's great to play, and the replays are awesome.
