I would be very happy to say that I am looking forward to the X-Box being released. In many ways I am. I am a fan of strategy games on the PC, but sometimes object to the hassles of the PC, and hope that the X-Box will do something to bring strategy games to the PC, especially as its specification seems PC-like (although by the time it is released it will be a very out of date PC).

On the other hand, games manufacturers seem to be sure that strategy games are restricted to the PC, and console releases of them have always been less important than the PC releases (and usually more expensive). It is also true that some strategy games will have trouble playing on a consoleee since they require resolutions which are impossible on a TV (one only has to look at the internet on a dreamcast to see this), as some games have shown (i.e. railroad tycoon II on the playstation)

I know that most players of console games are not usually big fans of strategy gaming, but I think that there ought to be a way of getting rid of the line between PC games and console games, which still exists in many cases.

I am interested to find out what other people think. What sort of games do you enjoy playing on consoles at the moment, and what sort of games do you hope will come out soon, or in the future (possibly on the X-Box)? What sort of games do you play on the PC? If you play on the PC, then would you be prepared to play on consoles (i.e. the X-Box) if a good convertion of games was made, and more games (especially strategy games) were released on consoles.

I would be very interested to hear what other people think.

Have you heard of "Heaven and Hell" it's supposed to be a great strategy game and will be out right about the time of the Xbox European launch. They have a preview of it on msxbox.com.
