I captured a 15 second video from RF input, quality is good, saved as standard mpeg the file is 13.0mb, I have tried saving in the few formats available with Pinnacle Trex; best result (without loss of picture quality) is to compress to a mpeg1vcd file - this reduces file size to 2.56mb.

Is there anyway to compress further ? (except by using winzip obviously) or save in a different movie format that will still be good quality but a smaller file size ?

thanks

I should probably mention that the latest build is the "Latest development (unstable) binary" one.

You want to use VirtualDubMod and Koepi's latest build of the XviD codec.

Come back when you've downloaded them.

mpeg 4 reduces it by another 10% down to 2.28meg, think I'll stick with mpeg and just knock out the audio and make the image size slightly smaller, thanks for info.

The ways to reduce file size:
Reduce pixel dimensions
Reduce frame rate
Reduce audio quality (or remove altogether)
Decrease image quality setting in codec
Change to a codec that offers a higher compression (eg: MPEG 4)
