I have been using Publisher 2003 to create my website. www.chequerscricketclub.co.uk but recently if I click on a link in IE 6 is closes the window, in IE7 it correctly links to my next page.

Try it ;-)

Freeola forward the domain-name to my host ISP, which is tiscali. This used to work but I am not sure what has changed?

Any advice for trouble shooting why the links are no l onger working on IE6 would be appreciated...

I don't know what happens in other browsers?

Not easy to get free WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors. There are quite a few text based ones - but that may be a bit of a jump for you.

If you are on Freeola Broadband then don't forget they give you a free Intstant Site - you might like to look at that?

Here's my little effort created just to see how it works.

Note: I see all Instant Sites are unavailable at the moment!?

There was/is an open source WYSIWYG application called Nvu.

Nvu was an editor based on Mozilla’s Composer. Composer died and became Nvu, this died and became Kompozer but development on this seems to have stopped last time I looked.
But you can still download the last version if you want to have a play.

Perhaps others may have some recommendations...

Thanks... publisher was ideal due to the simplicity of functionality... Do you have any suggestions for an alternative (free) editor.
Hopefully one that does all the work itself and I just concentrate on the text, links and pictures. ;-)

Cheers

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I had a quick look but got swamped with the amount of HTML code Publisher creates!

I haven't got a version of IE6 to test - but the links worked with IE7.

Perhaps it's time for you to move on to an application more suited to web design?

Sorry I can't offer any more help - hopefully offers may be able to help more...
