Anyone done it? I wouldn't mind having a go at it next year if I can get some money together.

Yea but you could work, travel all parts by public transport (supposed to be cheap and easy out there - planes for buses) A gap year would look better to employers and uni's I think than a booze up as a rep. Although the amount of work they do is .....lots. Word of advice, anyone I know that has done a gap in Australia said DO NOT DO SYDNEY FIRST because when you go you will not go anywhere left. My friends brother is there at the moment. He say's he wakes up every morning and can't believe he is there. Sounds cool huh! I wouldn't go on a gap though donit think.

yeah, that was another idea, I would much prefer it if I could get a friend to come with me. with repping you meet new friends, whereas driving round aussie (which is what I would do) would be a fairly lonely affair on my own. I'll try and drum up some interest

...Not for me I would prefer to go off 'the beaten track' as tigamilla quoted. You can get to grips with yourself and the country alot better that way. Also if you want to get rid of your hedonism your better of volunteering in thailand! ...or not

Depends where you go i suppose, I was thinking of it once seeing I can speak spanish but places like shagaloof, mallorca and ibiza really wouldn't appeal to me. If you wanted a good all out party of a life time thats ya place. I'd probably prefer a gap year in aussie or something.

If you really want to see gorgeous parts of the world I would recommend going off the beaten tourist tracks and advise you to explore the real non-commercialised areas where its all real.Im totally anti package holidays, its so false, you go into a foreign country and spend your time with Brits, eat british food, and generally behave like a Brit :(

nah, an opportunity to get all the hedonism out of my system in a relatively small amount of time.

I know its extremely hard work, but you'll meet loads of new people, see some gorgeous places and see a bit of the world.

EEEwwww sweaty sweaty party hooligans, with one aim in mind, stay away me thinks...
