But, now that Beckham has gone, who will be the next one to come along and take his place?
No, not Man United's set-piece taker. Not even England Captain!
Who is the next-in-line to become that one player every boy, girl, women and person becomes overly-obsessed with for no real reason??
Several years ago, Liverpool "pretty-boy" Jamie Redknapp looked set to follow-suit onto the path of "superstardom" that Beckham has now persued...
And, if it wasn't for numorous career-threatening injuries, a move down to Spurs, and perhaps his marriage to pop-star Louise (?), I believe he could now have been in the same shoes as Réal's new No.23 (...only, at a different club).
Other candidates for the new vacancy include:
Wayne Rooney - Just look at how much hype has been made about this boy since he first made his Everton first-team debut - not even a full-year-ago! And all the pressure of an England call-up that has come too-early.
He may look like an over-weight pig, but you never know for how much longer all this 'talk' will go on - just look at Michael Owen.
Thierry Henry - Okay, so he may be French... But that doesn't mean that the much-loved man with all the skills and the "va-va-voom" car adverts isn't already haflway there, now, does it.
Even if he doesn't become huge in this country, I'm sure he must be well-on-his-way to knocking Zidane off the top-spot, back in France.
Michael Owen - If you were to ask me, Owen would be the favourite to fill the slot. Girls love him, he's seen as an England Hero, and he's already had his own share of advertisement and sponsorship deals, aswell as a TV program, and video-games - like Beckham.
Plus, he is vastly over-rated for what he can do for club and for country.#
All he needs is demanding control-freak of a wife who has had her 5 minutes of fame and wants to be back in the big-time... (enter: Tara Palmer-Tompkinson!)
If not one of them, then, who will it be?
You can say what you like, but you can't ignore the fact that Football isn't the same as it used to be. Too many "prima-donas" are coming through, and moving-on to even bigger things to ruin the game, further.
> Puck would be a good name for their mutated ugly child. But good on
> Luke Chadwick, if i ever feel down about myself i just find a picture
> of him and i feel much better :D
luke chadwick may be a minger, but he's a good player, having learned from Beckham, Keane, Giggs, Scholes etc how to play- he's a great utility midfielder.
Oh my god, think of their children! Wont someone think of their children!
What would they call theirs?
Bottom (from A Mid Summer Nights Dream), and Romford?
