Hello,

If I want to put up a banner link to another website on my links page, using a banner image I already have on my own computer - is this possible? If so please can you tell me how to do this?

If anyone can I would be most grateful!!

Thanks again :)

Thanks for your replies :) Sorry I am completely new to this so wasn't entirely sure how it all works - but now I understand.

Thanks again.

This is because other people will not have the banner you have on their computer, and they wont have access to your computer either so they wont be able to view it.

Putting it online, allows the public to view it without giving away access to your computer.

If you want other people to be able to see the banner, then yes, you will need to upload the banner to your webspace.

Theoretically, linking to a banner that is located on your computer's harddrive will work, but only for you. I can't think of any reason why you'd want it to work like this.

Thank you :)

But sorry, does the image have to actually be located online?

Or can I use a jpg image that I have saved on my own computer? As some of the websites I want to link to don't seem to have a banner where I can right click on to find its location, so I have some banner images that have been sent for me to use.

Try this code:

<a href="http://example.com/" target="_blank">
<img src="http://example.com/image.jpg" border="0">
</a>

Obviously you will need to replace the http://example.com/ with where you want to link to, and the next with where your image is located online :)
