Is anyone able to tell me the best place to find images for my website that have not been copyrighted?

I use this site as well - recently I've noticed they try to 'divert' you to the paid for images rather more than they used to - but there are 1000's of free ones available.

Also, some of the computer magazines in the high street shops will have copyright free pictures and photos on their cover discs.

Some will advertise this on the disc or the contents page of the disc.

I'd also try searching for 'royalty free pictures'

Generally, images are "copyrighted" to the artist whether stated or not. If you come across any via Google Images then be sure to ask the owner before using it yourself.

There are huge image libraries of stock photography that are available to everyone at a small price, like gettyimages and istock.

Other than that, you're not likely to find many copyright free pictures that will suit your needs... you can try searching Google for 'copyright free pictures' which returns some websites - hopefully you will find something there!
