Daytona USA. One of the best arcade games ever made in my opinion. 40 racers on one track and some of the best tracks even seen. Daytona 2001 is basically a mixture of all of the daytona games onto the dreamcast. These were Daytona, Daytona USA CE. Now there are 8 tracks icluding my personal faourite the 3 7 speedway which is on the begginers section of the arcade game. The graphics are lovely and there is no slowdown what so ever. Many good features have been added to stop it from getting boring. For example the vs mode and a championship mode and of course arcade mode. This is nothing compared to what we are looking foward to and that is the 40 player net racing which we all are looking foward to. With Phantasy Star Online and now this the online part of gaming is looking rather good. Imagin no lag where you are up against 40 human racers in one grand tournament on three seven speed way. Those who have played the 2 player vs mode will know how fun that is on it's own. Imagin 40 players.

The game is not all perfect, it has very annoying parts to it. Naming some are the gameover screen and the lack of single player lastability. It is one of those games that you miss if you do not play on them but you get bored if you play on to long. It certainly is one of the best racing games ever made and it is worth that very long wait for it to be ported but we finally got it.

The controls are very good except the part of the sensitivety of the conrollers. The anologue stick is far to sensitive to the movements of your hand and it is probably better if you have a racing wheel.

To get the most out of this game you really have to like the arcase game and have internet acess. The game really is not worth £40 for offline mode only for it gets very boring very quickly. It is not as good as the arcade version but it is still an almost perfect port and deserves a buy for online play. It has potential and will most likely sell very well

DO NOT BUY THE IMPORT WAIT FOR US OR UK RELEASE.

You'd have a better chance of winning a game for a review in the reviews section???

I'd just like to humbly point out that I'd won gameaday for a mini review of Daytona2001 on the Dreamcast forum (ages ago mind you) Strangely my post has a similar title, it goes to show how obvious that was. Must have been before it's time. ;)

Sounds good.

The 40-player thing sounds amazing, I can't wait for a few years!!

Decent review, could be a Gameaday winner.
