After the surprise sacking of Vicente Del Bosque - only days after signing David Beckham and winning yet ANOTHER La Liga title - Real Madrid have apparently set-their-sights on Sir Alex Ferguson's Portuguese right-hand man, Carlos Quieroz.

It seems a surprise that one of the biggest teams in Europe have opted to go for a a man like him when they could easily have moved for a "better-known" face, like Frank Rijkaard (who recently got the Barca job).
After all, what do we REALLY know about him...?

'Nothing!' That was my first reaction when he first arrived at Old Trafford to fill-in the vacancy left by Steve McClaren's departure to Middelsbrough.
With all this talk filling the media lately, I've just found out that Quieroz (however the heck you say it...), to my surprise, was once the man in-charge of the Poruguese national team!

Whether he was the the man behind the Figo and Nuno Gomes goals that put England to bed back in Euro 2000, I do not know...
But now, you can start to see WHY Réal are so interested in getting him.

However, I doubt that is the 'main' reason they appear to desire his signature so badly...
Just think about where he is now - Man United - one of the other big-teams in Europe, in direct competition with Real Madrid, permanently.
And, as the No.2 when it comes to first-team management, surely, even if he cannot speak our language, he's got to know something about how Fergie likes his team to play, right?

And that's the problem - he knows too much!
If Réal know what he knows, United could see a succesful run in the Champions' League next season cut-short, whether the Spanish Champions play with David Beckham, or not!

Weren't Middelsbrough 'surprisingly-good' against us, last season...??

That is why I want Carlos Quieroz to STAY at Old Trafford, and to not be tempted-away by the lure of 'big-money' and greater recognition - á la David Beckham. He may not have done all that-much for us since arriving, but he's still an 'asset' to our biggest rivals.

....Even though I was one of those people who never really wanted him here in the first place!

He won the World Youth Championships in 1989 and 1991 with Portugal. Real may be interested in his talent of bringing through youngsters as thats what Real are "trying" to do these days with names such as Guti and Portillo.

I say "trying" as the last time Real said the youngsters coming through were enough they went out and bought Ronaldo.

Quieroz can speak fluently in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French. He was a huge asset in uniteds multi-national squad. And will be the same for Real with thier huge list global stars speaking all sorts of different languages.

And why the hell would they feel the need to the "top secets" from within united when they have dumped us out of the competition on both occasions we have played them in the last few seasons.

Now where will Vincente go? If I was sarcastic, I'd say Man United. But I'm not, so he'll probably end up at some Spanish club.

I hope he stays just for the fact that if he goes it puts a big dent in any proposed move for Ricardo Quaresma

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
