That's crazy. I remember seeing on the TV, a trial for a women, charged with rape. The trial was in some remote village. They heated a peice of metal to 900 degrees, and she had to lick it three times. If her tongue blistered, she was guilty, if not, she was innocent. Damn stupid if you ask me.

It's because she needed to marry quickly, but her father couldn't afford a proper ceremony with a man etc, so he quickly hitched her up with a dog.
