Companies around the world make sequels to games nearly every year, every sequel they say is better then the last, more activities to do, and more challenges.

Well hang on just a minute, I have played Tomb Raider and then Tomb Raider II and most magazines had given it a worse score, but still Eidos decided to make 2 more in the series and another one in production this year?
Why? becuase of hype of the game, the original is so good and people want that experience again.
I am one of the people who think Goldeneye is better then Perfect Dark. Why? becuase its the original.

Tekken Tag took 3 months to put together, they used the same engine as its predecessor, I feel this was not a game but a quick easy get together which the company knew would sell because of the earlier ones! The Mario's is one of the games I feel which has escaped being called a sequel, each one was completly different to the last, none of the orignal gaming engine was used in the later copies, RARE dont like doin this either and if you are wondering why Banjo Tootie and CBFD and taking so long, it is because RARE started a whole new engine for the two games, they could have used the old Kazooie engine but they like to be rare and perfect. (ignore the pun)

Magazines have a big impact on games, Advertisment and promotion has a big impact on games and as long companies sniff money they will make the sequel.

...they will continue to release a sequel which in most accounts is not deserved for going into the world of gaming, The future of gaming needs to have a change, Eidos have decided to begin new games with new engines, Nintendo never use the same engine and Sony...well lets just not talk about Tekken6 or others.

Hopefully games like Zelda can keep being produced because lets face it, each and every Zelda is completly different from the others.

WE get a Tomb RAider game every so often and what?
So another Tomb Raider game, wow would we want to get that?
We like to get whatever Zelda Sequel, Final Fantasy Sequel so there is nothing so wrong about sequels really, they improve in alot of things, plus they get put more of their ideas into a game after making the first in its series, look at the first Zelda on N64, and then Majora's Mask, just uses some different ideas this time, that makes it so different to it's first experience on the console, first time game making always makes sure they don't make the same mistakes as before.

Goldeneye wasn't Better than Perfect Dark.

It just made more of an impact that's all.

Once Perfect Dark came out, everyone was all hyped up and knew what to expect from it. I.E. Great game but not much impact!

Understand?

You see while sequels are great and everyone loves them, it's always an original game that makes the biggest impact.

Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, Goldeneye, Resident Evil etc

All made great impacts and made sequels which even when good didn't make the same impact.

Yes, the first 3 or four Zelda's were so radically different weren't they? :)
