I've got reports that Square are really really keen to work on a Nintendo Final Fantasy game! And apparantly they are in progress!

I got these from an official source but I'm gonna wait for more news before saying anything else!

That was supposed to be "...(except for the fact that people WHO put a lot of stock in Square may buy one of the other systems...etc..."

> My friends and I have fond memories of Square from the long ago days of NES and SNES, but we've grown very tired of the manner in which they keep progressing towards their ultimate objective--making movies--especially since they consistently practice for such things DURING things that aren't mean to be played, not watched. <

"...DURING things that ARE meant to be played, not..."

Typos, typos.

"Iron Fist" Yamuachi, the President of Nintendo, has stated that there's essentially no way he'd ever attempt to reconcile with SquareSoft. He feels that they betrayed Nintendo when they switched over to PlayStation and, as such, he has a very noticeable hatred for them. Considering the fact that he's nicknamed "Iron Fist" for good reason, I don't expect to EVER see a Square game on the Cube. That's sad, but by no means damaging (except for the fact that people how put a lot of stock in Square may buy one of the other systems to get access to their games).

Personally though, I honestly think the vast majority hold Square in repute for what they did a long time ago; a lot of their games over the last several years have been, well, pretty average really. They certainly haven't produced with the level of originality or level of quality that Rareware has. For crying out loud, Final Fantasy games now contain over an hour of FMVs. Excuse me, but if I wanted to watch a movie, I'd have rented one. My friends and I have fond memories of Square from the long ago days of NES and SNES, but we've grown very tired of the manner in which they keep progressing towards their ultimate objective--making movies--especially since they consistently practice for such things DURING things that aren't mean to be played, not watched.

Whether Square EVER shows up on the Cube or not, I really couldn't care less. There are higher quality developers out there at the moment--Rareware, Konami, and SEGA--and I don't really see that the Cube NEEDS Square to succeed. Mind you, I don't agree with Yamauchi's decision regarding the developer, but I don't feel it's particularly damaging to the Nintendo's future console.

Apparently, the rumour is proving to be true, Square are actually producing a version for the GC, which is basically going back to their SNES roots, kind of a homecoming, which is rather apt in a way considering the philosophy behind this great series of RPG's.

Lucky, lucky, Nintendo players.

There will be no Final Fantasy game on any Nintendo because the owner turned a contract offer down
