The European Grand Prix is held at the Nurburgring and is widely considered as Germany's second race. The weather, as is the case with most race tracks, is a big factor here. There was one race where they thought it might even snow!

Last year saw the Jordan of Fisichella and the then Minardi of Mark Webber tie up the front row. Villeneuve qualified well in 9th and it will please Firman to know that the Jordan goes well round here. The news is not going to please Renault though. Trulli qualified 13th and the then Renault driver Button qualified a lowly 19th. The McLaren pairing of Coulthard and Raikkonen did well with 5th and 8th respectively.

The race was just as strange as the recent Canadian Grand Prix this year. 8 cars retired and most of them were transmission failures. It was Sato, who is not racing this year, from 6th on the grid that went through to win with Fisichella in second to make it a Jordan 1-2.

Villeneuve committed the worst act in F1, taking out your team mate. Villeneuve took out Panis and they both couldn't recover to points finishes, finishing 7th and 8th which would be points this season. The Renaults race was total disaster. Trulli was first out with transmission problems and Button retired with a blown engine. Coulthard was another victim of the transmission problems and Raikkonen's race fizzled out to a poor 13th.

We will have to wait and see what will happen. With 3 drivers needing just a win to take the championship lead and the majority of the field needing a win to be right up there, everything is to play for. The constructors championship is also still wide open and a 1-2 for any team would be very crucial.

Nurburgring records:

Qualifying: Fisichella 1m14.958s
Race: Sato 1m15.778s

No no no - you're reading the vibes wrong.

Pole = Raikkonen
Win = Raikkonen

I predict a Jordon 1-2, with FIRM-MAN pole.

If I get pole, I'll win the race. If Fishylegs gets pole, I'll still win the race. It's a win-win situation for me. YeY
