Only piping hot (more than 70 degrees) tea is considered a possible cause of throat cancer, though reading the story it doesn't sound all that scientific to me and it would also depend what they had in their tea in Iran.
Anyway, yet another foodstuff to be scared of, apparently.

its true that eating more and also drinking more (any type of food or drink) that causes to apoor health of a person. so thats why we have to leave our these habbits which harms our body...
listining music through the headphones it causes to produce more bactaria in our ears...................that arises many earproblems...........

Whilst the mouth can cope with temperatures like nowhere else on the human body, anything as hot as that aren't going to be friendly to your insides as they certainly aren't to the outside.
edit: At one stage, tea was supposed to be better for you than water and milk was a no go. There's a lot to be said for 'Scientists' and 'Experts' in many cases.
