I'm sick of having 'wholesomeness' shoved in my face.

Nuclear families, babies, male-bonding, middleclass one-up man ship, gardening for pleasure, christian smugness etc etc etc.
I hate it. I don't want it.

I'm not settling down and having kids, I'm not going to get married and I don't want a mortgage!

Anyone else a bit sick of 'wholesomeness'?

I don't want to get married and kids aren't an issue, but I'd definitely like to own my own place in the future. It would be much cheaper than rent payments a month, plus it provides some security not having a landlord who can kick you out when they feel like it.

I thought the word "wholesomeness" could only be used in brown bread ads these days.

It doesn't really bother me. I'm not big on kids, or gardening, but if there was no "wholesomeness" then our lives wouldn't stand out would they? Sadly I think that for financial reasons in the future mortgages are a good thing. The repayments are normally less than the rent would be. And over 25 years say you might have payed out £100,000 and not have anything to show for it.

Well... yes.

But I'm still young... I don't need to think about that yet.

Never wanted a morgage but did want a house. Catch 22 unless I can win the lottery.

I have to say that really I'm quite partial to bonding with males, don't have a problem with that part at all.
