High Fidelity

John Cusack is Rob Gordon the owner of a small music shop, who is on the verge of a mid life crisis of sorts after his girlfriend Laura (Iben Hjejle) gets up and leaves him. His mothers mad at him, because she wants him to settle down and it doesn't seem like there's any action on the horizon. To top things off his shop isn't doing to well, and his employees from hell, Dick (Todd Louiso) and Barry (Jack Black) can't be sacked because they're music freaks who work 6 days a week for 3 days pay.
Things get worse for Rob as he realises Laura left him for Ian, his neighbour (played by Tim Robbins). Rejected Rob sets out on a journey to discover why all his relationships seem to be doomed to failure. Visiting his old flames, such as Charlie played by Catherine Zeta Jones, helps Rob reflect on his life, and so Rob comes to understand the meaning of love (well sort of!). Ultimately this is a funny comedy that examines the guys perspective on relationships and so is one of the few romantic comedies that can be enjoyed by members of both sexes. Highly recommended.

Your right Chans earlier work is very good, I used to watch the when Channel 4 was showing them late at night a few years back. What annoys me is how his old stuff is being dubbed and realeased over here...the dubbing makes the films look cheap, Ild much rather subtitles!

Im not sure how the film High Fidelity compares with the book as I havent read the book. However the film is very good!

Definately a must rent if your a Jackie

I liked both Shanghai Noon and Rush Hour :)

Obviously, neither are a patch on his earlier stuff like; Drunken Master, Supercop 1/2, Eagle's Shadow etc. But are well entertaining.

I rented Susans plan,
WHAT A FILM, easily the best film ive ever seen, OH th escript was totally engrossing, the plot superbly and subtley tied together, and the direction, was top notch, i must say a worthy £3.50 entertainment, watch it, or live the rest of your lives in the dark.
I also reccomend, The Manchester united Movie, The Eggplant (currently in production) and up and coming title 'The Snowball' (working title)
