I think the developers should make a new type of Speedball game fit for the next generation consoles. The best game out of the series was without doubt Speedball 2 for the Amiga. By leaving most of the basic rules in the game they could come up with new and improved ideas.
The matches themselves should now be played with a choice of multiple camera angles. The familiar overhead approach must stay, as its the best way to play the game but there should be other views like isometric, side ways, shoulder cam, ball cam, you know a lot like EA Sports titles.
Each team should have their own individual arena. Could just imagine a huge futuristic stadium with crowds more intimidating than in Turkey. The bonuses you pick up on the pitch should be removed and replaced with weapons thrown from the crowd. Thing such as steel pipes, glass bottles, hammers, and perhaps even a maize.
There should be three or four divisions with your team, who else but Brutal Deluxe!!, starting at the very bottom and having to earn promotion. All original teams remain plus a lot of new ones, so at the top you will find the familiar Steel Fury, Renegades, Fatal Justice, etc...
Other features would be a new transfer system, more training facilities, better fighting on the pitch, visable damage, better atmosphere at matches, create a team, online play, etc!!..
Another bonus could be the the chance to shoot the bloke who shouts "Ice cream" in a very annoying voice, from the stands. Say you hit all point stars along the side, you should then have access to a sniper rifle, aim it up and take out who you want - on or off the pitch.
Thats all I can think of right now, anyone else have any ideas?? - It would be great though if there was to be a new, totaly redesigned Speedball game, Im sure it could be a great success!!
