Rosalind - does your book contain a poem that starts:

I had a hippopotamus
I kept him in a shed
I fed him upon vitamins
and vegatable bread

Or anyone else - I learn't this a long time ago but am missing 2 or 3 of the verses.

Actually It was the nations 100 favorite poems. I thought If I had to start somewhere it was probably best to start with stuff that lots of other people have liked. I'm in with a chance then at least. Mind it did contain my number one most hated poem of all time!
