Could you just tell me if the 4 links span the full space correctly, and if resizing the browser window will keep the links at an equal length??

Could you also tell me which browser you're using and on which OS??

I am aware that the colours are awful, I'm just having a play about with CSS again :)

Yes, they span the whole page correctly, and stay in proportion when the browser is resized.
