Yes, games are going to eventually rid all developed countries of soldiers!

Once the technology is in place to transmit data from someone's 3D 'Tank Simulator' and convert it into commands for a remotely enabled tank, then you don't need half the military staff required now.

The technology exists, it's just too easy to block the signal at the moment...

You'll still need Ordnance on the ground to put tank bridges in place, Engineers on the ground to repair your tanks, Catering to feed them, AAC to fly these people in.....nope, all the hi-tech hardware will still need human support. Plus the fact that a 'visible' deterrant is always an effective defence.

Was it Armitage who quoted that 85% of Americans now believe that most military hardware is too expensive to send into battle in case it gets damaged?
