Many people would have been sceptical of whether Killzone 2 could have delivered such a great game after such a long wait.
Well the wait was worth it, Killzone 2 definitely delivers. The game throws you into the assault on the enemy planet of Helghan where you serve as seargent Tomas 'Sev' Sevchenko in the elite alpha squad. There are many things that make this game so good. First of all the amazing graphics, on every bullet shot, every grenade exploded killzone's graphics show why the game had such a long waiting time. It is hard to find a disapointing texture or angle and every enemy down to their bright bald heads are perfectly designed.

A second aspect that tells Killzone 2 apart from other fps games is the AI of the enemy. Every hit on them creates a different movement and reaction. this adds to the whole game's sense of immersion into the combat. the AI is far superior to games like Call Of Duty World at War and Modern Warfare where you could see enemies and friends crouching next to eachother and the enemies only shooting at you and not your team. This does not happen in Killzone 2 which shares out the combat between you and usually one other cpu ally.

Immersion is a key point in Killzone 2 with it being pulled off with excellence. Features like the camera staying in first person when you are struck down and the use of the sixaxis to control movements like turning valves, placing explosives and also steadying your aim when using a sniper rifle. All of these aspects create a feeling of great immersion into the battle along with minor features like allies fighting alongside with you having their own little battles and being tended to by medics while you push on to your next objective and the highly destructable enviroment with many epic explosions to delight the player.

Along with this single player comes a unique multiplayer aptly named 'warzone'. A great feature that I find sets this game apart from others is the fact that a single game can have many objectives and a final score that decides the winners of the match. The class system on warzone consists of badges which the player collects by going up ranks or completing combat based challenges. These badges give the options of different abilities such as the abilty to heal a downed teamate or create an automatic turret/air support. Another good feature is the clan system. which instead of just giving the ability to put a few letters in front of your name it gives each clan a page with a roster list and announcements. Also the leaders can organize or join tournaments which can then be watched in a basic replay on the killzone website afterwards. It also give an ingame currency called 'valor' which can be put in as a wager in a clan match.

In conclusion Killzone 2 is a really good game and has had a well deserved wait. I think that this earns a definite place in the PS3's top 5 games ever list.
