Chapter 1 In and out.
As I stood on the stage of the NWA I knew at that moment I was ready to go out there and fight. It was my first day and I had doubts of what the fans would think about an English wrestler. My first match was against Lex Luger at a house show. Though it was a non-televised event, it was pretty big then to go against him. For a laugh, he put his title on the line. I lost. He hit me with a metal chair! He had had a match that week and he was really annoyed as he had lost it. He wanted to take his anger out on someone.
It was a good thing that it was the NWA’s last day. WCW had ‘triumphed’ over them (bought the company).I was out for about three weeks with a serious concussion. My arm had to be in a sling for a bit as I had an ever so slightly torn muscle.
If you are wondering why I didn’t go after Lex , and believe me, I wanted to rip his eyeballs out and feed them to some angry lions, t was all to do with the company. WCW didn’t want me. I didn’t have a legal contract with WCW. So I decided it was time to just send threatening letters to him. He knew exactly who it was. I’m not sure how but he kept sending me back letters aswell. But they where not threatening letters. They where letters of apology!? Now I am a very forgiving person (well maybe not) but he did not and still doesn’t realise that he nearly ended my career before it even started.
Then 1 month later, a letter came through my door. I thought it was from The Total Package again but on the front it had the ECW logo.
I had been offered to go to Extreme Championship Wrestling…
