Yeah, for some reason I always used to miss the ending, but the first half I found really interesting. The other night I saw the end, and it reduced my view of the film to merely good. After building up the intrigue, it ended with 'let's all forget about it'
Lame

I would've thought that wouldn't really happen. Cloning someone wouldn't transfer the alien over, in fact, given that the Aliens only violate the blood stream, if a sample of hair was taken, then the new Ripley would have no alien inside her. Still, I like the bit where the guy paps himself as Ripley tells him a chestburster will kill him in a few hours. Classic :D

yeah, but not just 'extra bits' but bits that in my view add to the plot and make the film better.

yeah very much like the abyss, I thought it was pretty damn good. read the book too which was a lot better.
I tell you what I bought the abyss on video a year or two ago, thought it was a good film. then the special edition was on telly and it was 200% better. it annoys the hell out of me that james cameron films always seem to be re-released with extra bits added on. like T2, whats the newest version? Terminator 2 : Extra Extra Special Platinum version

Yeah they used her blood to clone her, but saying that the alien would still be inside her after the cloning process has to be the biggest plot hole in cinema history. Its like saying if i had a sex change operation and then gave a blood sample for use in cloning, my clone would have female sex organs.
And how the hell did the alien even concieve? it didnt look like the queen was the alien that got jiggy with ripley.
Saw that at the cinema I think, reminded me a lot of The Abyss if I remember correctly. Was a pretty good film though.

actually i thought 3 wasn't too bad. of course none of them come close to aliens, which is still one of the best sci fi films in my view.
watched sphere on channel 5 the other night. I think thats a good film

My favourite kind.

I don't know, but in my opinion they ruined the film with that stupid alien at the end. they could have squeezed 20 minutes more alien blasting action in there instead of ripley getting all romantic with a slimy looking freak
