From the BBC sport web site.

Auxerre striker Djibril Cisse has sent Liverpool a clear message he is ready to move to Anfield.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with the French international, who says he would relish the chance to play at Anfield alongside Michael Owen.

"I would like to go. But if the club don't want me out, I won't make a fuss about it," the 22-year-old striker told sports daily l'Equipe.

"But it's not a secret that I'd like to go. Everybody knows it.

"There's always the danger of failure but it's only by playing abroad you can test yourself. If things don't go all right I'll bounce back."

Cisse's future is likely to be confirmed following the French Cup final against Paris St Germain on Saturday.

But Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier is a good friend of Auxerre coach Guy Roux and, despite competition from Marseille, the Merseyside club seem favourite to sign the £10m-rated forward.

"I have emotional ties with Marseille, I've said it in the past," said Cisse, whose mother lives in Arles, near the big Mediterranean port.

"So why not? But for sure I'd love to go to Liverpool."

I would personally love to see him move to Anfield. Liverpool are in need of freshening their attack, do you think Cisse is the man to do it?

I also think Houllier will be shopping for at least one wide player, Duff has been mentioned but it is “reported” Man U are also after him. Who do you think he would go to? I personally think he would go the Liverpool because he could be guaranteed a first team place.

Cisse is miles better than Ronaldinho.

Cisse scored the equaliser against PSG tonight in a 2-1 win for Auxerre. Cisse didnt do too much in the game but took his chance well!

Ronaldinho looked a different class mind...So confident on the ball and his silky skills are to die for...

If you get Kewell and Duff, then you'll get to the top 3 again, and maybe push Arsenal to 4th.

It would be good to have him, by all means.

But why can't Liverpool get the width sorted first?

Get Kewell. Get Duff. And THEN, get Cisse.
