And whenever I'm muckking about with my old speccy/C64 emulator... I still find Manic Miner one of the most playable games about...
However, the 2D platformer has advanced with time, whilst holding to its old skool roots...
But is there any room for the old Sidways/Virticle shooter?
R-Type often gets rehashed... time after time, and, is a classic title... but there have been very few new/updated/modern games in this genre...
Does anyone think theres anylife in the old dog left?
Or has this gaming style lived a full life, and has been rightfully put out to pasture after a good haul...
Also, if there were a new batch of sideways shooters... what would you want then to include...
game saves/passwords would always be a good help
