Is it me, or has this forum lost its "greatness"? Ever since the name was changed to Intelligent Discussion things seem to have been going downhill. I can't quite put my finger on it, as all the normal types of posts are still here, opinions, news, stories etc, but back in the day I used to come straight to this forum to see what was going on. Now I look in from time to time, and don't see much of any interest.
Has it been since they scrapped the prizes for the forums? Have people run out of ideas? Am I reading too much into nothing? What's happened to this, once the best of the forums?

Perhaps it is because existing regulars know that a lot of good ideas for topics have already been exploited and the world news is pretty samey at the moment.

I've noticed that there has been an upsurge in vapid posting over the last week, and I wondered why.
Then I remembered that schools are on half term in many places. Question answered.
