Well, now I am old enough, and having passed assessments and fitness tests along the way, I just passed the big interview on Wednesday. Now all I have to do is pass a medical a week on Monday and then I should be training in July.
It’s like a big weight has been lifted of me. Having been in poor jobs and more recently volunteer work (to make the CV look good for the police), it is nice to know that soon I will be partaking in an actual “career”, also nice that I will be earning again.
To the best of my knowledge my training consists of 16 weeks away in London and then around 2 years back on the job.
So soon PC English_Bloke will be policing the streets of Cambridgeshire. Hopefully.
The pay isn’t too bad.
I will be on about £21,000 after 4 months of being on the job.
> Are you itching to make your first arrest?
*Puts some cheesy dramatic music on*
I just want to make the world a safer place.
> Good luck
Cheers :)
> *glad she doesn't live in Cambridge*
Why, cos I would be arresting you?
*Gets his handcuffs out*
No I don't.
> Good luck and all that, but I want to be Columbo.
*Holds cigar*
"Excuse me sir...My wifes a big fan.*
*glad she doesn't live in Cambridge*
