Did anyone see that documentary-thing on BBC 1 last night about the existence of "Performance-Enhancing" Drugs in the modern-game, and how they've been about football for something like 40-years+ ??

I found it to be quite interesting.
The BBC are always good at doing Football-related programmes like this, and that is just one-reason as to why they deserve the rights to Match of the Day, and not ITV!

Most interestingly was a survey of every player in England's top-4 Divisions, which seemed to suggest that around 4-whole-squads-worth of players - one for each division - seemed to 'know of' players who have been secretly taking drugs to enhance their perfromances!
And they then went on to say that they believe something like 70% of today's Brittish-based players could be taking these "unknown" substances, which the FA's "thorough" test clearly aren't picking-up!!

Yet, again the FA are doing something wrong!

And some even went as far as to sat that many players do not even know what they get injected with, when the physio walks-in - in a programme which did seem rather "too-defensive" on the players side of things, and the FA....!

They also looked back into the past, and how players in Italy (who have taken the same sort of stuff) have failed to reach the age of 30, before suddenly dying, without a singe trace to even suggest it might happen!!

----------

Could the same really happen over here, within time?
Will today's Premiership players soon be "nodding-off", one-by-one??

And why exactly are these over-payed "super-stars" taking these drugs, anyway... Are they just that darn lazy, or what?
Does the Premiership, and players like van Nistelrooy and Henry, only look as good thanks to sniff of this, and a sniff of that??

You have to wonder what exactly that is Arsénal seem to have stained on their shirts... I've noticed that Vieira seems to "enjoy" it inside the tunnel, before the start of a game!

This could explain WHY so many players demand so-much money!
....And why Wayne Rooney has been playing as good as he has, for an over-sized 17-year-old...!

Bosnich is a druggie, and I think one Charlton player once had his career ruined when he tested positive after smoking a dodgy fag. Strange that my Mum's cousin was a youth player at the time, but had his chances ruined by injury.

Well i have trials with some high league football teams in the summer and i would hope to god the players don't use these drugs. It seems a bit unfair on the genuine players.

I've just realised; The Van Man goes to ground ALOT. How can we be sure that he's not fixed on taking grass of some sort?

Yes, but these are "performance-enhancing" drugs - whatever they may be, exactly.

IF Premiership Stars are taking drugs, then you can only assume that they do it to get a buzz different to that of playing for their team; I'd regard that as being the biggest buzz you can get.

It's the same sort of reason as to why they gamble all the time. It's just a different (and sometimes, better) way to get excited.

Sex, also, is an option.
