Please point out that Langley Memorial park is owned by the residents of Langley Village. They bought it after World War 11. Members of Slough Council are Trustees of the Park. The use of the park is protected by covenants in the deeds of purchase. A copy of the deeds is lodged with Slough Museum and with Langley Library.

Much of the area was sold or given by the Kederminster Estate, frequently protected by covenants andor provisos in the will. For example, many of the Victorian houses behind Station Road are protected against infill development by covenant.

The site of the present Langley Manor school was granted for the village Primary School, and can be used only for Primary Education.

It is generally understood in the area, that there are provisos in the deeds of the East Berks. College site that preserves it for educational use.

I suggest you try to contact Mr Wickens (New Road, Langley – I think). He is something of an expert on property covenants in the area. It would be brilliant if his knowledge was more generally known. You’ll probably find him in the phone book.

Another person who has a lot of local, anecdotal history is the lady who lives at 8 Station Road. Her family is from the area for generations. She attended the village school at the St. Mary’s Road site.

The owner of Langley Glazing has a very fine collection of historical photographs of the area.

Something else would including might be the old Staff House which was demolished to make way for the Scholars’ Walk development.

Yes, I did. But I'm always having problems with Daily Radars site, I always find dead links, that are fixed if you try them again straight away.

Maybe it's because I'm using Netscape Navigator?
