my dual optics mouse's cursor often flies to the edge of the screen its quite frustrating when playing games any ideas?

Leave it alone and see if it jerks. I really doubt the mouse is thinking it's moving that far that fast. I suspect a software problem.
Dark wood will have a shine to it and that may be the problem.
Use a mouse mat and see what happens.

it is logitech i can move it fast and its ok but everynow then it just flies off.when playing 1st person shooters the screen sometimes spins i use my comp table (dark wood).
Crap ones maybe, but if it's a Logitech Dual Optical I wouldn't expect that kind of behaviour from it. What tracking surface have you got there? How fast are you moving it?
