It's the truth and to gamers its practically a dream to have hot 1-player titles with 2, 3, or 4 players to play with them. Future game develpers like microsoft and nintendo can get a major jump on eachother and the playstation 2 if they only think of things like this. Do you know how much a game like...hmmm... lets say Zelda Majora's mask with 4-players? or Metal Gear Solid with 4 players and if not 4 players, 2 players will still be good. Basically, the idea of the century for all gamers is what i call "4 Player Maingame" where all 4 players can play in a main game. Turok Rage Wars brought that out a little bit, but wasn't good enough, but with the excellent audio and graphics the xbox brings they can make alot of cash if they do something like this.. imagine a 4 player starfox 64 maingame? It will just be a hit. As you play with your friends they can back you up. As you defeat a boss you and your friends will need to work together to defeat a single foe who has power, skill, etc. With more '4 player maingame'Trust and believe the future of multiplayer gaming will exceed far beyond from what it is today..............

As development... and getting more into the mainstream... all thats going to happen is that more single player and multiplayer only games are going to be lreleased... and less single player games with multiplayer otions stuck on... or vicea versa....

Although multiplayers more involved than a quick deathmatch have already started to appear on the PC's (Vampires, et al) and games like neverwinternights are comming out soon... more variety, differentl types and playstyles have yet to emerge (althou they are currently on the way)... so console equivelants shouldnt be too far behind...

It's no good, just having a class Single Player, like Zelda which normally is known for it's good Story game only, the developers don't care how they will make a multiplayer in a game, some of them just stick it in for extras ie. Donkey Kong 64.
Of course if they put enough effort into it, it will be a great game but the single player makes it look good.
Single players are longer than multiplayers, although they have a shorter lifespan that is only because we spend more time on it.
It's just a wasted opportunity if you get a good multiplayer and no decent Single player. The Multiplayer made ones like Turok RAge Wars and Unreal Tournament maybe not the perfect single player but with intelligent bots it's adequet.

I love multiplayer action, if there is ever a 'hot' game coming out after checking the screen shots I always look to see if it has a 4 player split screen pic.

I think that a super smash type 4 player Zelda would make the game last much longer, I think that you only tend o play Zelda through 2-3 times but you would keep coming back for more if there were a 4 player.

I think we should see a really good Turok game for the GAMECUBE, I am not a big fan but

"How can a Nintendo 64 owner call himself a fan with no Turok game"

You heard and you know you agree, a big 'N' fan is nothing without a turok game to propthe rest up, I hope we seen the damndest Turok game on the NGC. I think that graphics and effects would be ace!

Imagine PC type graphics on a console, that is what we'll be seeing soon...the guns the jungle levels...I can't wait! Another thing will be the multiplayer, I think these new Next-Gen consoles will allow more wrestlers, baddies and explosions on 1 screen......

I can't wait me!

I agree with alien02888
More games should have multiplayer 'main games' - but not just shoot em up's. It can work with almost any tyoe of game.
Sonic 2 with player 2 as tails. That was pretty cool, even if it was virtually pointless. How pathetic would streets of rage 2 or golden axe 2 been if they'd only been single player on the main mode? And gauntlet certainly wouldn't have sold much.

I can't think of many single player games that wouldn't be better if they were multiplayer.

As fun as that would be, you know what would happen though:

Player 1 would 'accidently' shoot Player 3.

Player 3 would retaliate, and it would turn into a death-match anyway!
