Those mad scientists are all over another important question to life, the universe and everything by breaking down the smell of chips. Why? You may ask. Well, it's all to highlight National Chip Week, apparently.
What it probably meant was that they've finally figured out a way to pop down to the chippy every day on expenses.

I would have been more interested in finding of what shade of Magenta the person responsible for organising the farsical research would go if he found out that at least half of the UK demand a valid reason for why he has performed those tests.
Or how long it would take him (or her) personally to pay it back!

Well, I'd say they are geniuses (I mean, they thought up of this study to waste money on...who doesn't like chips). They could have studied the aromas in cow manure.
