I am having trouble submitting a form in dremweaver. I understand that the action should be set to mailto:myemailaddress and the method to post (thius supports larger quantities apparently).

The trouble i am having is when i test my form in explorer and press the submit button it just brings up a blank e-mail ready to write with my e-mail address already typed in?? I am a user of AOL.

How do i bypass this comin up and get it sent direct???

I understand i have to use CGI scripting but i thought this just "unjumbles" the form that is sent and makes it legible??

Pleas ehepl as i am this far away from creating my web site!!

This is one of the many reasons why AOL deserve to die in a pit of stink - their proprietary dialers/browsers/mail clients/whatever screw everything up, including your mailto form. To be honest, mailto is not a great solution, if you can submit the information via php or something cleverer.

The mailto: command only works with certain browsers, IE works fine but only if you have Outlook Express working.

AOL does not support this feature and will just bring up a blank email.

Use a basic PHP form to do it or if that's too complicated, just get a freebie mailer from Bravenet or something.
