With the first ever official release of the NES Systme in China I was pondering the possibility of Nintendo/Sega re-releasing their older consoles in limited number - obviously with a few extra features. Possibly, as seen in Master System, a built in game of a high quality (any previous owners will remember the paper-scissors-stone level).

Along with the release of the old consoles the release of older add-ons could follow; such as the popular NES Advantage or even the far less popular (and unofficial) infra-red controller 'U-Force.'

Come on we want them back!!!

Depeinds what the other ooption was....

A SNES with 2 games... or.... a night with the super model of your choice, a 1.3Gig PC, PS2, GC, GBA, X-Box, and thee hundred thousand pounds....

Thats gotta make the choice a little tougher to make?!?!

Or... and I know this is a crazy, off the wall idea. So please dont flame me for this.... but instead of a hardware legacy, some people or a company or something (I havnt finalised the deatils yet) could write software emulations of the system....

It's not so much the consoles, but the games... Sega have the right idea, with their bonus pack game thing, with Phantasy Star 2, Sonic 2, err... Streets of Rage 2... and so on, on a disc. Some really great games.

Hi Lewinsky!

I think the NES was a great console but at the moment I can't see Nintendo re-releasing it in this country. Maybe in Japan cos they seem to like all sorts of things which other countries think are very very strange!

I would like to see a comeback of a lot of consoles but I reckon if they do do anything like that they will be built in as part of another console but still use the old carts/disks.

And I also think this will be in the not so near future!

Ahhh... there releasing old computers somewhere all the time... in the mid ninties somewhere like the middle east got hooked on the C64... a couple of years later the Amiga500 was released... both these releases causing all the emulator game mods on the net to suddenly become illegal and be removed from a load of websites (before then comming back a couple of weeks later ;) ) ...
