It could take on so many different formats, a Resident Evil style survival horror, with the hillbillies being not much more intelligent than zombies.
It would also make a decent 1st or 3rd person shooter. You could add certain other aspects of the game into the film, riding the rapids down the river, climbing up the rock face. There could even be a section in which you have to pick off the hillbilies at the top ot the rock face, whilst you lay at the bottom, with one of your companions bleeding to death.
And if that isn't enough to convince you that this game would be great, then how about if we throw in the excellent banjo music throughout the game!
I hope I'm not starting a Burt Reynolds films to movies thread here though, CannonBall Run and Smokey and the Bandit might be interesting, but Boogie Nights and Striptease would be just plain scary....
