From the day I took my PS2 from its box it has had a pronounced 'rock' when placed on a hard flat surface.
It does this in both vertical and horizontal positions. I have tried several locations but the rock is always there.
Has any one else noticed this? Please try and reply. Thanks.

:-)

Seriously though... probably not - sounds like the plastic has become warped somehow.

I know you shouldn't have to, but buying a horizontal or vertical stand may provide a solution.

What I am trying to describe is that not all four of the feet are in contact with the surface. All of the feet are present and correct, but horizontal or vertical it will not sit square to the surface it is on. At present it has a folded piece of paper under the front right corner to stop the rock.

There was a slight 'bulge' on the underside of mine which prevented one of the rubber feet from gripping, in the horizontal postion.

But in the vertical position it's fine, both with and without the vertical stand.
