Hi.
Firstly, I have Windows ME on my PC right now.
Okay, I got Windows XP Professional for Dell PC's today. My PC isn't Dell, and it won't work as the CD isn't an upgrade. I don't think the Dell bit is a problem, but the upgrade bit is. I don't want to reformat my hard drive, have too many MP3 files to back up to do that, and I've never done it before. I don't want to keep ME, I want XP.
I have a Tiny PC, which has been completly upgraded. So, can I use this XP CD then or is it just a waste of time. I understand that it is probably illegal, but ho hum to that.
So, if anyone wants to help me I'll be greatful.

The boss at my dads work throws the CDs out each day, so he brought a few home for me and my bro. Ah well, I'll buy an upgrade version instead.
Hm don't really understand but there is a Win XP pro for only Dell?
Or is it just a backup XP Cd?
It should work fine but i think there's a Full version one which u must format for it to work and a UPGRADE version for both home and pro versions.
Search Win XP and u'll see it there.. so where ever u got the CD try to check it out..

It's probably locked to DELL platforms only, which means you can't do it.
