Imagination Technology are in my opinion the best chip suppliers on the market. This company happens to have a strong relationship with SEGA. They are the suplier to the Dreamcast for there chip used in there machine so you could call them a strong supplier.
The chips name used now is the PowerVR chip which is very powerful. Most importantly with Imagination Technology is there strong domination for the Arcade business. They make the chip for the Naomi 2 arcade board which owns about 50%. Now Sega are dependant on this PowerVR chip for there future in the hardware and console market. Sega has 50% of the arcade market because of the power of the VR chip used in the Naomi 2. That is why we find Namco and others using this service (one reason we may see more arcade conversions made by sega e.g Time Crisis 2) If developers continue to uise the Naomi 2 board for there arcade machines then we might find the sega will dominate the arcade market which may help them in the future with developement of New consoles

The set top box powered by the chip is going to change the future with new standards in interaction with gaming. Now the connection with Microsoft is that aparantly we are being shown Microsoft using the same system for there console. They are hinting using the same chip as sega. That would also explain the rumours about sega being compatible with the new microsoft system.
