What is the point of putting concrete dates for when games come out? When Perfect Dark was annouced i knew nothing about it, it got hyped up, a Christmas release date turned up then one day it get's turned into a Easter time release date.
Now that all the hype and the dissapointing news straight before it got released it put RARE in increasing pressure to bring the goods, if they hadn't said all this about it in the first place nothing would have happened no one would of really complained if they got an average game instead.
The hype goes into games too much, developers get pressured into the game really perfect but sometimes release dates rush them to get it ready. Summertime is one time that needs more releases in there. If rumours keep swirling round on the net, Konami need to do something about that, they will get PS2 fans anxious the hype is already they all expect huge things from it.
There's been rumours that it's been delayed for 6 months, i can't believe what people can believe from a few dates if Konami are going to release it they are going to release a perfect game.

Release dates are only ever ment as a guide ment for distributers and retailers.

Their provided completion date... and as anyone who's ever been part of a project will know, is pretty much always missed... and is only an estimate... as time goes on the guesses become more accurate, however, there are always unexpected porblems... and programmers are often a touch over optimistic!...

Also I seem to remeber a few years ago, SR tried to do away with displayng game release dates, because they were so sketchy... but people kept writing in and asking for them to return...

I agree that developers should not juggle release dates. But when they announce dates they may not mean Europe though. This is a good topic for people to post examples.

I will definetely back this topic up, well done SNIPER!

Companies do, do stupid things, maybe one day they will plan ahead and say 2006 when they know the game is coming out in 2002.

This way they cant get in trouble.
Perfect Dark: October 99
Perfect Dark: DECEMBER 99
Perfect Dark: APRIL 00
Perfect Dark: JULY 30th 00 <-it was released
