What is the best Cd ripping software? I checked around, and it appears that MusicMatch is appaling. I want one that works with an iPod, is free and works on Windows 98SE.

Any suggestions?

Oh yeah, because iBooks compress audio REALLY quickly...

Define "ripping"? Just compressing to MP3s/OGGs? CDex.

I use Adaptec's software for ripping (as I use Easy CD Creator 5 to burn anyway).

Not that I rip CDs very often. I just download them :D

Have you tried looking on the CNet site?

There's 269 programs there in the download section of the Rippers & Encoders area, I'm sure one of these will be ok.

As for connecting to the iPod, no idea, seeing as it's an Apple product, will it actually talk to a PC?
