I wasn't particularly impressed by the trailer myself, as in my opinion, it looks too much like a war film and seems to stray from the first film a LOT. Yes, this is what Fukasaku intended (to reflect what happened to him in WW2), but it really isn't what I wanted out of this film (eg - people being blown up as they leave their boats - very Saving Private Ryan, is it not?).
I also think that the trailer gave away too much about the students being killed, but I suppose they wanted to show the new necklace system (where there are 21 pairs of kids and if one person in the pair does, the other dies also). I'm not really sure if this can have the same impact that the first film did but I guess all we can really do is sit and wait for the official trailer and film to be released (this is a trailer that will air in the lobbies of cinemas in Japan).
And is it me or is there a Kiriyama lookalike in the mix? Also note that Kitano's daughter is there also (actually the Kiriyama-lookalike's partner) and she put herself there to kill Nanahara in revenge for killing her father. I know that this film is an exit from the original premise of the first film, but this has so much potential to be a great film, I just hope that with the passing of Kinji Fukasaku the film's credability doesn't deteriorate now it's in the hands of his son, Kenta.
July 5th, Kazaa will be very busy (pity it won't have subs :).
Noobster.
> You know your name is Noobstar, don't you?
I know. But Noobster is already taken by some idle git that never uses the forums...
Any chance a mod could delete his account if he's never used it? :)
:D
