4 rounds down and it's on to the sunny shores of Spain for Round 5. The Spanish Grand Prix is known to be very hard on tyres and when it rains, it pours. The Catalunya circuit is a favourite on the testing circuit and is known to be a proving ground for drivers trying to break through to the F1 circus.

Last year's event was dominated by the B.A.R of Villeneuve. The conditions were far from easy in qualifying. The hour started wet and was drying all the time. Villeneuve judged it to perfection and got pole position, his first of two pole positions last year.

The race was a similar story to qualifying. The track started out wet and kept drying. It was the ideal conditions for Villeneuve as he went on to record his first career win in a season that led to him fighting for the Championship. Villeneuve went on to take a second win later in the year.

For the current Championship leaders, this race will lead to mixed emotions. Current Championship leader, Trulli, was running fairly well when Barrichello made a mistake and smashed into Trulli, leading to retirement for both of them. Raikkonen battled bravely but just missed out on the podium by 7 tenths of a second behind Michael Schumacher. De La Rosa would rather forget the start of the season last year. He could only manage 14th in the race but is definitely fairing much better this year.

It was a dominating performance by Villeneuve last year and he'll need a similar performance to mount a title challenge this year.

Current top 3 drivers:

1st Trulli 21pts
2nd Raikkonen 16pts
3rd De La Rosa 15pts

Current top 3 constructors:

1= Renault 26pts
1= McLaren 26pts
3rd Jordan 23pts

Fisichella qualified 14th and retired on lap 38 when his engine blew up. It can only get better from that I guess. :)

Setting up for a good race, I just hope Fissichella and Firman can show some of the form as they shown in the first race.

By the way GP, how'd Fissichella do last time?
