But is that really such a good thing??
Remember the Newcastle game...
With David Beckham out of the starting line-up, many 'United fans were fearing that the worst could actually happen on that Saturday lunchtime - and it only got worse for us when Jermaine "Jee-nas" struck so early on. It looked as if were going to suffer - heavily - without David Beckham.
But then things started to pick-up again. And even without everyone's favourite money-hungry England-captain in the team, we were back on level-terms, with the high-flying Geordies. And then came another goal. ...And another! And before you could even tally-up how many Paul Scholes had actually scored, there we were, 6-2-up, against a team who've had a remarkable season, by their standards, in all competitions!
And all without David "I dun a picture book" Beckham.
Do we really need him??
We were even doing it without him against Arsénal - and I have to admit that first-half performance was one of the best I've seen 'United put-on in years!!
Who's to say we can't do it again, without Beckham, tommorow night?!?!?
After looking carefully at both the Arsénal and Newcastle games, you see the ball spread all-over the pitch, where every-single player gets the ball, and the 11-men really do play together like a team. But, often when Beckham plays, I've noticed that our attacks revolve around him way to much, and the majority of our game is usually played between 3 players: Gary Neville, to David Beckham, and then Ruud van Nistelrooy with the finish. But, as we know, it doesn't always work out that way.
With his £100,000-a-week salary, enormous world-wide reputation, and daft-as-hell "image rights", David Beckham has become - perhaps - the biggest footballer the world has ever seen. And with his pressence on the field, all 'United players - and probably some England ones, too - feel the ball HAS to go through him, with almost every-last attack.
He may not scream and demand the ball like Roy Keane, but it seems to me like he gets way-more than his fair-share, compared to other players.
And I think this is something Sir Alex Ferguson has noticed, too!
And that is why he is finally doing something RIGHT - and taking David Beckham out of the team, to give talents like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, the chances they clearly haven't had for a long-time, now.
It's not just to see what other options he has, incase "business-man" Peter Kenyon decides that David Beckham "MUST GO", if Réal's £40m-offers become concrete.
In conclusion: I would now be happy to see David Beckham leave for Italy or Spain in the Summer, as Manchester United are team of footballers who should not be forced to revolve themselves around one-player.
Posh could get her way, once again, then!
Wonder what you were going on about, until I spotted the topic.
Bloody hell!
I think that if Real Madrid DO put a bid of 35 Million + , then Manchester United will have no other choice but to sell him, as it would be mad no too.
Yes, Figo can play left and right, but his territory is on the right wing, and if Beckham did come, one of those two players is going to be disappointed.
I don't really care where Beckham's future lies, but I just can't see him moving to Real Madrid.
P.S
Bristol Rovers ARE safe :)
For now, yes.
But you're still stuck down in Division 3!! :D
And, no doubt, you'll be selling some of your best players - again - this Summer, so I wouldn't say you're THAT safe, for next season! :P
Oh, and I'd advise you to stay-clear of Ashton Gate this evening...
No, not because your Gas Head or anything, but Cardiff are coming to town! :D
Win this, and I'm sure we'll feel ready to go on through the play-offs, and straight-up into Div.1! :)
Thrashing newcastle 6-2 and holding Arsenal proves Beckham isn't needed.
As you say, when beckham gets the ball, he punts it forward whereas without him, the whole team works together and therefore puts on a better performance.
Although as a liverpool i hope you play as crap as possible ;)
