Games companies now are companies who are known to make consoles and software. What ever happened to board games?

The closest video-gamers tend to get to board games is Mario Party. But the proper board games which you can play as a family are just as fun as video-games!

In board games you don't have to worry about powercuts, loose wires, glitches, errors and faults. In video-games you get all this and more!

Have computer games completely monopolized the games market? Have they scrabbled your mind? Some people just don't have a cluedo! The board games market has gone ker-plunk which adds to the Frustration of parents who want to see thier kids do well in the Game-of-Life instead of going Round-The-Bend over pixels and sound FX. Kids who like board games tend to be caught in a Mouse-Trap because they have no one to Go-For-Broke with. This often leads people into a Mind-Trap but Masterminds at Chess and other strategy board games tend to be really clever people.

Nintendo have got the right idea by licensing a Pokémon version of Monopoly and Pokémon board games and Trading cards. Although these are all Pokémon they show that Nintendo knows there is more to life than pixels!

Board games are just as fun as computer and video-games. There are advantages of video-games as well though! You can play with people the other side of the world with no delay, you can do things you could never do in real life like instantly build a them park, run a hospital or even conquer the world! But this can lead to Epilepsy and poor eye-sight.

Anyway if you get some spare time, try playing a board game with a friend instead of blowing his head off. You'll be suprised at how cool it is to beat someone using your mind instead of your fingers.

That's one of Sony's biggest mistakes!

I wonder if they will be able to use the extension which allowed 4 players?

I wonder if a new PS2 extension will be needed cos of the different shape to the new one?

I wonder if it will be really expensive and be a con like the PS2 stand was in Japan! Come on Ł30 for a small piece of plastic (without anything inside it which does anything)

It's usually a good idea to play with friends, when using a board game...

Unless you own a PS2, where Sony seems to think that all PS2 owners only have one friend.

It's funny that this topic should show up today, as I was just considering having a game of Monopoly tonight....

Boards are great. Wooden ones are the best though. I hate all those meetings they have...you know, the board meetings.

S'funny you should mention board games, because recently I installed Monopoly of the PC onto my Mum's laptop, and she loves it. She can now get beaten by anyone in the world instead of just me!

hehehe! sorry but I've got to say this...

Cheese....boards.....Cheeseboard :)

Anyway, I've got 3 different versions of Monopoly! It's a great game and I love beating my dad at it!

I've got the original Monopoly.

Anti-monopoly which is a more complex version where you have to take over Europe.

And

Pokémon Monopoly whrer you have to buy Gym's instead of streets. This game is especially good if you like little rubber pokémon :)

I like Monopoly. Its great if you put a hotel on Mayfair, and laugh as your little sister crys as she hands over those 'pretty' pink Ł500 notes.
