Will the PS2 affect game releases on other consoles and PC?
In my view, the answer to this question is YES and unfortunately it has already come into affect.

At the moment the PS2 is hogging all the spotlight,so game developers will take advantage of this while they still have the chance.

Instead of producing games for already existing and fading computers and consoles, coders are gunna wanna release games for the thing thats grabbing all the headlines, hence the playstation 2 gets all thge new titles. This will have the worst affect on the PSone,as it will be easier for coders used to programming games for the PSone to uprgrade to programming for PS2.For example, this will happen when MGS2 and GT3 are released. It is ok for those of us who are fortunate enough to have a PS2, but those who have played the prequels on the PS1 and don't have a PS2 will miss out terribly.I don't think there will be such an affect on the N64, but the problem has already come into play on the PC.And I hate to inform all you fellow gamers of this, but Obi Wan, the much anticipated star wars game due to be released on the PC has been scrapped!CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!But, luckily it is scheduled to be released on The PS2 in a galaxy not so far,far away, in a future not to far.far away.

Of course during the course of its life, tere will be PS2 games on the PC...

But if the PS1 didnt affect the games released on the PC, then the PS2 has absolutly no chance whatsoever...

The PS2 may be hogging the spot light, but so far none of the games have been all that innovative, the highlights seem to be graphically based... and having a game look good on Watchdog and begin fun attached to your TV are two different things...

Which I know brings me across as a PS2 hater, but I'm not honest! :)

As to Obi Wan... this is VERY old news... the reason it was scrapped was mainly for LucasArts to save face... People thought the game was going to be the unoffical sequal to Dark Forces : Jedi knight... whereas infact it was supposed to be a new spin on the Rouge Squadron/Rebal Assult style games... Notincing the intense intrest all over the web and LucasArts not wanting to be lynched when the game was released, they decided it would be better as a console title...

They have their press release on their web site for more info...

-- If you were a poor Aztec with no weapons, and a bunch of conquistadors came up to you and asked where the gold was, I don't think it would be a good idea to say, "I swallowed it. So sue me."

I do not think Sony have quite let us down yet, especially as the pS2s powers have not been tested to full effect!
