As many of you may have seen, Tony Hart died last weekend.

Tony Hart was an inspiration to many kids growing up in the 80's and early 90's. His Take Hart and Hartbeat programmes were watched by millions of kids in the UK.

Tony had the ability to explain art and make it easy to do for anyone, no matter what their ability. I still have his 'Anyone can draw' book from the 80's where he explains the basics of art. It has some excellent advice for anyone learning to draw.

He also had the ability to explain things and present a children's programme without talking down to the children, something rare at the time.

Without Tony Hart we may not have had Wallace and Gromit, as his show also starred the plasticine figure Morph (and later on his friend Chas) who lived in Harts pencil box. It was the success of Morph which brought Aardman Animations into the limelight.

Tony and his Gallery will be missed by many.

A very sad loss of a charming and talented man. I most remember Vision On, which started before TakeHart. But for you all here is a reminder of theTake Hart theme music.....

Take Hart

But for me, this is the best memory of Tony Hart - the theme music from Vision On......

Although I mainly used to watch Hartbeat for Morph, I did enjoy the show as a whole - Tony Hart made art more interesting.

I still vaguely remember the theme...

Haaaaarrrrtbeat...dodo do dodo dodo

I'd be suprised if we see children's TV presenters of his calibre again.

Yeah, I used to watch those shows. I was never really any good at drawing.
