Many people have told me this many times over the years, but it's only now that I've finally realised this. I get bored with things very easily. Some things I really enjoy, like playing guitar, skateboarding, playing Halo with my mates (hint, hint :p) and I'll never get bored with them. But all too often I find myself just stopping things that are dispensible. For instance, I own 4 domain names, but I never do anything with them. They seemed like a good idea at the time, I used them for a bit, but then I just thought "sod it, this is boring, there's a dog and it's all puffy". Really, I did. I sat down this morning and tried to re-do one of them, but after a while I got really bored. Same story with another domain that I bought recently and is quite an important personal project. It's not like I've got a short attention span, because I know I haven't. I'm not restless either. I just get really bored, really easily. But it's only with things that don't really matter.

I'm the same in a way. I tend to do one thing for ages, then never again for months (haven't touched any of my scripts for weeks/months)

It's pretty depressing, so I'd take Snuggly's advice about setting yourself goals.

I have maybe my favourite quote printed off and stuck to the wall above my desk, just to try to remind myself:

"Procrastination is like masturbation; It's fun, until you realize the only thing you've done is f*** yourself"

I get bored writing my dissertation, and my mind wanders off to the internet, or some other distraction. Like now, actually.

But pretty soon I'll either get bored of this or look at my wall again, then I'll drift back to the work.

Still, mostly seems to happen when I don't care much about what I'm doing.
Targets help you care.
As do wall notes...

Set yourself targets, like I did. It's all too easy to think 'bah, I'll do it another time' but eventually you'll realise you've been wasting vast amounts of your youth and you'll get back into gear again.

That's the thing - I can think of plenty of things to do. I have coursework, I have to buy some birthday presents, I have music to record, I have gmes to play, I have websites to make. I just get bored of doing them and move onto something else. Maybe I have too much to do?

I hate being bored.
Absolutely hate it. I just can't think of anything to do with myself, and time seems to just slow right down.
