With games so easy to port over, will we be left with inferior, rushed ports, of X-Box games, failing to take advatages of the PC's stong points and illuminating its weakness?
Will PC games take a drop to JoyPad based gameplay?
will 1st Person perspectives suit the Sidewinder joypad better than the keyboard and mouse?
Mean games like CM can be released, and run in all their glory... as, FPS games, e.g. Quake3 & Deus Ex 2?
If its cheaper for distributors to make quick copys of X-Box games, will they move over to the more limited consoles style titles?
You can go on the internet do your work then go on your games consoles. It's all attention to detail for most PC games coming out now, they all want to make the game look good because people are going to buy it to expect it to look good, because they know their PC is powerful.
If you want to play online the games on the PC are designed specially for you to play online, already there's over 1000 servers on Unreal Tounrnament and a million players each day.
Alot of people expect alot from their PC they want to process so much information, do their work for them and use it for the information. The amount of information kept on your computer is huge.
And the amount used up by games is alot.
A console doesn't have that kind of thing, it's just your own personal computer to play games.
There are many reasons why this is, one of them being the fact that you can upgrade a PC.
There are millions' of different PC's, where as only 4 games consoles at the moment.
PC's are already available with 256mb of ram, 3000mhz and extrememly powerful graphics cards.
Imagine playing a game on a PC with specs like this!!
The graphics will be amazing, the speed of the game will be great, and you can use a keyboard, mouse and joypads to control it.
There are some brilliant games coming to the PC, including Project IG1, Aliens vs Predator 2, Star Wars Episode 1: Obi-Wan (maybe) and hopefully a sequel to the excellent Deus Ex!!
Also, there are still some classic games you can buy on PC, including Deus Ex, Unreal Tournament, Quake 3: Arena, Championship Manager 2000/01, Aliens vs Predator, Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun and if you want to go for games with great gameplay, look for Worms Armageddon, or perhaps Half-Life.
AND MOST OF THESE GAMES CAN BE PLAYED ACROSS THE INTERNET!!
If you're bored of beating your siblings all the time, then just connect to the Web, and play against other fellow minded gamers from around the World!!
Although the Dreamcast can do this, and the PS2 will be able to soon, the PC will always be the master of Internet gaming.
Of course, PC's have the obvious advantages, like being able to install educational games for your kids. The only thing most console games teach you is how to shoot people, or how to drive a car with the press of a button.
Of course though, some PC games teach us this as well. {:)
Although there are a bigger selection of games on consoles, the PC is bringing out AAA titles all the time, and many a developer is still willing to make games for the PC.
So with all these facts combined, it looks like there's a good future in store, for PC Gaming.
Thanks for reading, Ant.
