It was one of those nights. Des looked at his computer, scratching his head and squiting his eyes. He tryed to understand what was going on on the screen. He gave up, and went to the kitchen for a beer. His hair was all messed up- and with reason- and his clothes were scruffy. It must have been about teo O'clock in the morning. He had been working for about two years on this project. He didn't relise it would be finished tonight. He came back and moved some windows around the screen. He then moved what looked like a small clyinder on the screen into three bigger ones. Nothing happened. He did it again, and when nothing happened he went a bit physcho, doing it at least twelve times. He left to go to the toliet. He didn't see the small sand clock in the corner of his screen. Des looked in the mirror in the toliet. He wasn't the 'slob' he felt like. He felt like one of those truck drivers- fat and p!ssed. But he looked significantly younger and thiner. When he came back to his computer, he realised what he had done. He looked at the block of ice to his left. It was fine. He looked at the one to his left. All he saw was a large figure, and a fist coming straight for him. Attempting to duck, he was knocked out cold. The creator had been defeaten by his creation.

3 years later...

A kid on the streets is always questionable. people may walk past and wonder 'how did he/she get there' and 'I wonder if he/she has a proper home'. Drain was a homeless 8-year-old who's home was the alley he sat in. He was only called Drain by the local school kids, becasue that's where they found him. They were the only people he knew. Drain didn't know what 'love' meant. Hell, he didn't know a quarter of the English language. But he had some odd feeling for the girl named Lucy. Drain didn't even know if he liked the feeling. She liked him, and bought him food sometimes. Drain was surprised the day he was arrested. It all happened so fast. He was put into a small room and was asked questions about his family, friends and life in general. He answered correctly, not lying. When the man left, he escaped. He went back to the streets. He was disturbed by waht the man had asked him. It reminded him of something. Drain, you see, is not human. Yet he is not a dragon. Dragons had been at war with humans for almost three years, and now the dragons were genetically modifying themselves. Drain was the son of an experiment he knew nothing about. He was half human, half dragon.
